Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria to apply for the GIST university scholarship are:
- You can apply to the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology for the Masters and PhD degree program.
- Masters leading to a PhD.
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree that is equivalent to the Korean Bachelor’s degree to apply.
- All the international candidates can apply.
Exemption of English Language Test Proficiency
- All the courses are taught at GIST University in English. You can apply without the English language test, If you have been selected, after that you can submit your English language proficiency test.
- If you complete your bachelor’s degree in an English-speaking country such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA, then you can apply for the GIST scholarship without an English Proficiency Test result.
- So otherwise, all applicants must submit the English proficiency test score such as TOEFL (IBT, PBT), IELTS, TOEIC, and TEPS.
You need the following score for these tests:
- TOEFL: iBT 80, PBT 550
- IELTS:5
- TOEIC: 750
- NEW TEPS: 285
You need to have an English test score because the Korean Immigration Service may require an English or Korean test score for a VISA application.
